Homework, S-W-E-E-T homework! B-r-r-r-r! This word makes me feverish:
How many times you've been telling yourself different excuses to skip your homework or postpone it to the latest deadline? Was there really something important that made you put your homework aside, or you were just making these excuses for yourself and others?
You probably won't be surprised if I tell you that you hate your homework, because:
If you find your homework boring, useless and annoying and believe that it is just a waste of time - EAT A FROG! That's my advice. This is how I treat the work I hate, if I need to do regardless my likes and dislikes.
Imagine that you were living in a country, where all people were eating live frogs for breakfast. Suppose that this was their custom and if someone failed to do it, they would throw him to sink into the river with big hungry crocodiles. So, you either eat that frog or crocodiles eat you!
What would YOU do? Will you look at this frog every morning for hours and think how disgusting it is:or may be join the crocodiles? Well, my suggestion would be to eat that frog fast and forget about it!
No matter what you think or feel about your homework, you should treat it the same way or it will spoil all your college years ahead, and in your worst nightmares you'll see how your professors are turning into hungry crocodiles and start eating you for absence of your homework.
To make this job easier for you, I've come up with 5 heavy reasons why it's easier to do your homework than not do it:
#1. It takes longer to think of a good excuse (or bad excuse, e.g. " The dog ate it." or " I left it on a bus") than actually do the homework.
Just weigh how much time you'll waste on making up a strong excuse. I should tell you from my own experience that it is a time- and energy-consuming task to make your teacher believe another story you made up.
Moreover, just imagine that someone else could use this brilliant excuse before and your teacher will figure out that.
One more important point is that if you are not in drama class, you'll probably fail telling your excuses, because it's always obvious when people lie.
#2. You can make your friend pay to copy it in the morning and you'll be rich before you leave the university :-)
#3. It will make your teachers happy if you do your homework and it's a great feeling when you get your teacher's recognition for a good job, especially if he or she is one of the toughest.
#4. If you did your homework conscientiously, there are good chances you'll get a top grade and raise your GPA score.
#5. You can learn something valuable while doing your homework and it can always come in hand many years later.
As it comes out:the devil is not as terrible as he is painted. To tell you the truth, homework can be even fun - it all depends on your attitude!
Either way, treat your homework as a frog and you'll learn how to handle any work - regardless of whether or not you like it!
